Babcock Introduces Industrial Engagement Strategy to Accelerate Access to Canadian Defence Solutions

Babcock Canada (Babcock) is further strengthening its industry collaborations to support Canada’s defence and security priorities by introducing its Small and Medium-Sized Business (SMB) engagement strategy, Building Canada’s Sovereign Defence Capability, Together.

The strategy underscores Babcock’s commitment to growing domestic capabilities, strengthening industrial resilience, and helping ensure the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) have timely access to leading Canadian solutions.

It establishes a clear and transparent pathway for Canadian companies to engage in defence opportunities. By simplifying access points and identifying high-potential capabilities early, Babcock is connecting innovative businesses with real operational challenges sooner.

In addition to early engagement, Babcock’s investment pathways and co-development opportunities are designed to help bridge the gap between demonstration and production to support economic growth and expand advanced manufacturing capacity in Canada.

Through mission-driven selection processes, solutions are evaluated based on operational effectiveness and value to Canada, ensuring a level playing field that prioritizes innovation, agility, and outcomes for the CAF.

“We are committed to continuously improving how we partner with industry to strengthen Canada’s defence industrial base. Our role is to enable Canadian innovation to move from concept to capability faster, while ensuring the CAF can rely on secure, mission-ready solutions,” said Tony March, CEO, Babcock Canada.

An example of the strategy in action is iSupport360™, Babcock’s secure, Canadian-enabled digital through-life support application, developed in collaboration with four SMB partners. Designed to complement existing systems, iSupport360™ integrates real-time data, legacy records, and AI-enabled analytics to deliver predictive insights without disrupting operations.

The platform provides defence organizations with a comprehensive view of fleet health, performance, and availability, enabling more informed, evidence-based decision making.

“With iSupport360™, organizations can shift from reactive maintenance to predictive, mission-ready outcomes,” added March. “It’s about giving Canada the tools to operate more effectively today while preparing for the challenges of tomorrow.”

Through transparent governance and ongoing performance measurement, Babcock remains dedicated to building a strong, innovative, and collaborative Canadian defence ecosystem for generations to come.
