Babcock recognizes the importance of mentorship at the WiDS Professional Development Series

On April 9th, Babcock attended the Women in Defence and Security (WiDS) Annual Speed Mentoring Series. The event is designed to provide professional and personal development opportunities to both mentors and mentees in Canada’s defence and security industry. Babcock’s Jake Jacobson, Vice President, and Catherine O’Reilly, VP of Human Resources were on hand to act as industry mentors. Also in attendance as mentees were five Babcock employees from the Ottawa office.

Babcock teams with TMA for launch of student marketing competition

Over the course of three days in March, students from the University of Ottawa, took part in the inaugural ‘Pitch Your Brand’ marketing competition. Organized by the Telfer Marketing Association and with the support of industry partners Babcock and The Social Enterprise, the event is designed to help students gain experience and apply their classroom knowledge to real-world marketing challenges that companies face in an ever evolving and noise filled media landscape.

Babcock partners with University of Victoria to support Engineering Students

Babcock is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the University of Victoria and sponsored their student-led human powered submarine team for a second consecutive year.

A long time champion of programs that promote STEM career fields to youth around the world, Babcock is committed to supporting Canada’s next generation of engineers and technologists. In addition to a financial contribution, Babcock employees will provide mentorship and technical guidance to the students as they design, build and test their human powered submarine.
