Association of British Columbia Marine Industries’ Business Opportunities Conference 2022 

Babcock is proud to announce that we will be attending the Association of British Columbia Marine Industries’ (ABCMI) Business Opportunities Conference that will take place November 8th to 9th at the Vancouver Convention Centre.   

The conference will span two full days and feature six engaging panels, a networking reception, as well as over 25 exhibitors from the marine industry.  

The ABCMI Business Opportunities Conference is an excellent opportunity to connect with other companies, provincial and federal governments, academia, and other industry stakeholders.

Babcock is also excited to announce that Phill Davidson, Director of Supply Chain and ILS, will be speaking at the ABCMI Business Opportunities Conference on November 8th at 09:50 – 12:20.

About Phill Davidson  

Phill Davidson, Director of Supply Chain and ILS

Phill Davidson is an experienced Supply Chain and Integrated Logistics specialist who has worked in the Naval Defence industry for over 40 years. For the last 12 years he has been working in Canada as Babcock Supply Chain Director, managing cross-country teams located in: Victoria, Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Halifax, and he is responsible for all supply chain activities in Marine and Aviation. He is also accountable for the efficient integration of Babcock Canada’s Supply Chain with that of the parent company, Babcock International Group. 

He relocated to Canada in 2009 and was initially responsible for setting up and delivering submarine equipment maintenance, procurement and supply chain functions in support of the Victoria In-Service Support Contract.  

He began his professional career in the UK as a government apprentice, progressing through various roles including production manager responsible for factory workshops, constructive trades within surface ships, and nuclear submarine refitting. He has spent over 15 years managing business improvement projects, including shipyard infrastructure facility cost reduction initiatives, and major projects for the development of the submarine planning and production principles that are still in use today, both in the UK and internationally.

The association was created to further represent the interests of the industrial marine sector and its supply chain. The group works to strengthen the industrial marine sector of British Columbia and it will create a positive environment in which our industry can prosper and our people can grow.
