Canadian Industrial Leadership Award
Canadian Industrial Leadership Award
Babcock is committed to advancing STEM education and training for Canada’s emerging talents. We are proud to nurture the future generation of engineers, technologists, and business leaders, particularly focusing on creating opportunities for women in these fields.
“We strive to create unique opportunities and experiences for women in STEM programs and support the development of the next generation of Canadian defence industry leaders.”
– Jerry McLean, Babcock Canada CEO
This commitment is central to Babcock’s ethos, and we are proud to partner with L3Harris Technologies, Thales, and CAE, and Gemera; Dynamics Missions Systems Canada, to present 10 coveted awards to female students in STEM programs across Canada. These awards help develop future industry leaders and provide female students at Canadian universities and colleges an opportunity to work in a role relevant to their area of study.
As part of the CILA program, students are awarded a fully paid internship and a one-time $6,000 bursary. Upon successful completion, the program also opens doors for full-time employment, making it a valuable opportunity for aspiring STEM professionals.
While a student, CILA recipients receive mentorship from seasoned industry executives and STEM advisors, participate in networking opportunities, and collaborate on assignments with CILA winners.
