Date: May 28-29, 2025
Location: EY Centre, Ottawa ON
Booth #: 113
Babcock is thrilled to announce our return to this year’s CANSEC tradeshow on May 28 and 29 at the EY Centre in Ottawa, ON.
Hosted by the Canadian Association of Defense and Security Industries, this two-day event is Canada’s largest and most important defence industry event. It showcases leading-edge technology, products, and services for land-based, naval, aerospace, and joint forces military units.
What you can expect to see at this year’s Babcock Booth:
At our booth, #113, you can learn more from our industry leaders about Babcock’s global capabilities across the marine, aviation, and land sectors. Babcock is also excited to showcase the Babcock Immersive Training Experience (BITE) for the first time in Babcock Canada’s history!
- Babcock Immersive Training Experience
- Industrial and Technological Benefits Partners
Babcock Immersive Training Experience:
BITE is a technology-driven platform developed as a ‘safe-to-try’ and ‘train-to-win’ environment to prepare and test the Canadian Armed Forces in the most demanding circumstances while providing an entirely controlled, low-risk training solution. Through immersive training, BITE replicates real-time, operationally accurate scenarios, such as realistic frontline battles, by including:
- Soundscapes
- Seismic simulation
- Climate control
- Generated aromas
- Visual stimuli

BITE is a deployable and scalable solution that bridges the gap between training and mission readiness.
National security is critical in an increasingly complex world where the threat of natural disasters and geopolitical instability is constant. Canada’s armed forces and emergency services must remain ready to face the most challenging and high-pressure environments; BITE enables Canada to do so. To learn more about BITE, visit Training – Babcock Canada.
Industrial and Technological Benefits Partners:
From coast to coast, Babcock has proudly invested in and continues to invest in several small and medium-sized Canadian companies as part of Canada’s Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) policy.
We are delighted to showcase several ITB Partners at the Babcock booth. Be sure to stop by booth #113, to learn more about each company and the work we do together!
Larus
Product: Predictive Maintenance Machine Learning Model

Developed by Babcock and Larus, the machine-learning predictive support simulation and optimization proof-of-concept for complex fleets identifies aircraft, resource, and inventory allocations to minimize cost while maintaining commercial compliance. Additionally, the tool manages constraints on parts inventory, maintenance personnel, aircraft placement, and infrastructure to identify a series of suggested plans for business stakeholders. | “Larus is proud to be partnered with Babcock Canada on this project that uses AI/ML techniques for predictive maintenance and resource optimization. This project quickly demonstrated significant cost savings and operational improvements by identifying new ways to efficiently allocate resources while meeting commercial objectives. We look forward to continuing to work with Babcock Canada to further develop and deploy this solution.” – Rami Abielmona, CTO. |

International Submarine Engineering Ltd.
Product: Subsea Charging and Data Transfer Solution

Developed by International Submarine Engineering Ltd. (ISE), the subsea charging and data transfer solution was designed for integration onto ships. Alongside Babcock, it is now being adapted as an innovative autonomous underwater docking solution for the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). This solution’s key advantage lies in its ability to support autonomous underwater vehicles while maintaining the submarines’ covert operations, ensuring no detection or operational compromise occurs. | “The relationship between Babcock and ISE has been key to unlocking the subsea probe-and-drogue’s full potential – impacting real-world results where they matter most.” – Michael Versteeg, Mechanical Department Manager |
