Our program speaks for itself

As a co-op student, Babcock empowered and trusted me with the autonomy and responsibility to lead challenging projects. I was shown a level of respect as a co-op that ensured my skills and contributions were welcomed and my opinion was heard and valued. Babcock supported and encouraged me to do each of my 3 co-ops in a different department and role. The experience gained through these different placements gave me the skills and knowledge to become a valuable contributor to the business after the completion of my degree.

Trevor Adams
Data Scientist, Babcock Canada

My co-op terms with Babcock Canada enabled me to both develop within industry and better understand engineering principles when back in the classroom. I have been lucky enough to work with so many great people in the Combat Systems Integration Group and across the business as a whole. Babcock gave me a jump start on my career by supporting my professional development over the course of 2 years allowing me to learn from knowledgeable mentors, gain practical experience and secure a permanent position by the time I graduated.

Chloe Pearson
Systems Engineering Practitioner (Junior Mechanical Engineering Technologist), Babcock Canada

My 2 co-op terms at Babcock Canada were the perfect pieces to my university experience. During my time, I was able to apply my theoretical knowledge from lectures and learn of industry best practices by doing. Babcock makes a tremendous effort to cultivate an environment for learning not only for students but all employees. It developed me both personally and professionally, through fantastic mentorship and unbelievable opportunities! I never would have thought that a job while I was in school would be so fulfilling.

Even though women have made tremendous progress towards increasing their participation in higher education, they are still under-represented in these fields.
