Babcock President, Mike Whalley, elected to the ABCMI board

January 21, 2020 – Babcock Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Whalley to the board of the Association of British Columbia Marine Industries (ABCMI). His appointment was officially announced on December 9th, 2019 at the ABCMI annual general meeting.

Mike is the President of Babcock Canada. He is a professional engineer and an experienced naval support specialist who has worked closely with Navies around the world and has been involved in a wide range of design, project management, systems/equipment and facilities projects within the marine sector throughout his career.

Mike’s focus is on expanding Babcock’s business in Canada across the full breadth of the Babcock International Group portfolio, which includes marine, land, aviation and civil nuclear. Babcock Canada’s main marine project is the Victoria In-Service Support Contract (VISSC), which provides full in-service support to Canada’s fleet of four diesel electric submarines.

Mike brings over 25 years of experience within the marine sector, including his experience working with International Navies, to the ABCMI board. He hopes to leverage his knowledge and experience of the global marine marketplace to help strengthen the marine sector in British Columbia.
