Babcock Canada appoints new Vice President for Marine line of business

Babcock Canada is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Potter as our new Vice President – Marine.

Mark has had a highly successful career spanning over 29 years in the Royal Australian Navy. After many years in the Australian Submarine Force, culminating as Commander Australian Submarine Force, he transferred out of the Navy as a Captain and transitioned into the commercial sector. Mark joins us from Babcock Australasia with an extensive and broad knowledge in the Marine industry.

During his tenure as Babcock’s Managing Director Marine (Australia) Mark was responsible in strengthening Babcock Australasia’s relationship with ASC Pty Ltd. (formerly the Australian Submarine Corporation) and to ensure that Babcock maintains a key and valued part of ASC’s exceptional performance in sustaining the Collins Class submarines. Mark has also played a leading role in the regeneration of Babcock Australasia’s warship strategy, including decisive input into the successful bid for the Naval Ship Management (NSM) joint venture.

Mark will be responsible for the Marine business in Canada; including the sustainment of the Victoria-class submarines, and supporting the strategic growth of the Marine business across Canada.
